Notices are sent to the registered office by mail.

 All businesses are required maintain a complete physical address including a locality for the registered office. (See How to update registered agent and registered office for details.)

To send mail to a Post Office Box, first request a Statement of Change Registered Agent And/or Registered Office using the  Online Forms Request. Then complete and send back the form once you have provided a street address in the first line, the Post Office Box number in the second address line followed by the city/town and zip code. The city/town and zip code must be the same as the registered office street address.

Each licensed agent/agency is required to report the following within 30 calendar days:

1. Name Changes (§38.2-1826)
2. Fictitious Name/Trade Name/Doing Business As (§38.2-1822)
3. Address Changes (§38.2-1826)
   (Also required to report address changes to insurers within 30 calendar days. Residents moving out of Virginia required to report address change immediately)
4. Felony Convictions - Such report shall include both the charging documents as well as documents showing the final disposition of the case (§38.2-1826)

5. Administrative actions taken against agent or agency in another jurisdiction or by another governmental agency in the Commonwealth. Such report shall include a copy of the order, consent to order or other relevant legal documents. (§38.2-1826)
