Introduction to CIS

Welcome to the Clerk's Information System (CIS), an online tool that allows the public to search for key business information and helps businesses to more quickly and easily make payments and submit most filings required under Virginia law.

The Clerks Information System is a new tool that allows the public to search for key business information online and helps businesses to more quickly file papers, make payments and perform other important activities.

 Also known as CIS, the Clerks Information System is simple to access at cis.scc.virginia.gov.

Once you set up an account, businesses can login from the homepage and perform many activities, including: making online payments, changing business information, and submitting required documents.

The first page you will see when you log in is your business dashboard. This dashboard tracks all recent online interactions with the SCC, including payments, correspondence, and updates to business records. Click on each of the headers on your dashboard to see the activity underneath. Please note, CIS was launched in December 2019, and only shows activity after that date.
