Broker-Dealer Agent applications are processed by the NASD through the CRD.

• Form U-4
• The statutory fee in the amount of $30. The check must be made payable to the NASD.
• Evidence in the form of a NASD exam report of passing: (i) the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, Series 63; (ii) the Uniform Combined State Law Examination, Series 66, and the General Securities Representative Examination, Series 7; or (iii) a similar examination in general use by securities administrators and designated by the Director of the Division of Securities and Retail Franchising.
• Any other information the commission may require.

INVESTMENT ADVISORS:

Investment Advisor applications are processed by the NASD through the Investment Adviser Registration Depository (IARD).

  • Part 1 A and 1 B filed with the IARD system.
  • Part II and Schedule F filed on paper with the Virginia Securities Division
• $200 (payable to the NASD)

Investment advisor representative applications are filed through the CRD.

• $30 (payable to the NASD)
